ORDER PROJECT AT FASHION PREVIEW 2016

Order Project is a final assignment given to the fashion design graduates of Montreal’s Lasalle College. The goal behind this special project is to create a  collective collection with a commercial potential under a specific contemporary theme and to present it to the ever-growing fashion crowd our city holds during Fashion Preview on April 6th, 2016. A pretty cool project overall, and what we think education should truly be about.

You will find amongst the genderless, uniform-inspired pieces, fabrics such as raw denim, cotton and fleece. Practicality is an essential aspect and therefor jumpsuits, culottes, jeans, tunics, duster coats, sweatshirts and sweatpants are key ill-fitting pieces to be found in the collection.

Always one to see trends ahead, the creative head behind Order Project, Milan Tanedjikov, assigned the students this theme a couple years ago. He explained:

“It’s a quiet rebellion.

It’s a reaction to fashion’s ever-changing cycle.

It’s a popular mouvement towards basic clothing.

It’s an ironic interpretation of the banal, everyday apparel rooted in the casual suburban “non-fashion” of the early 90’s.

IT’S A LIBERATION OF BEING NOTHING SPECIAL.”

Order Project will be presented Wednesday, April 6th during Fashion Preview. The Fine Print got the first exclusive sneak-peek to their lookbook below. Congratulations to all graduates! Get your tickets to the presentation HERE.
